Fitness: How fit do I need to be?
Tramping is a great way to improve your fitness and have fun doing it! However, if you struggle with fitness on a trip, you're unlikely to enjoy yourself. As a guide, consider "When was the last time I tramped or walked for 4 or 5 hours?". If you have not engaged in similar levels of physical exertion recently, you may be better to build your fitness more graduallly with other activities before taking on a day trip.
If you are new to day trips, we recommend you contact the trip leader regardless.
Booking
You do not need to book for day trips - just turn up at one of the stated departure points and enjoy your day tramping!
