Waitangi Weekend 2-6 February 2012
Mayor Island (Tuhua)
Join us for a unique experience to this amazing volcanic island with spectacular scenery where landing and staying on the island itself is by permission of the Tuhua Trust Board. The island offers good tramping and excellent beaches for swimming and snorkelling. We will be camping on the island and there are showers and toilets. You will need to provide your own camping equipment, cookers and food.
We leave on Thursday and stay at the Pacific Coast Backpackers. We need to be at the boat by 6.15am on Friday morning and the boat returns late afternoon on the Monday. This gives us two full days plus two half-days on the island which is plenty of time to explore the island tracks and spend time on the beach.

Transport: Private cars. Please let me know if you need a ride or can take passengers. There is parking at the wharf.
